Wednesday's Weekly Review

I recently dined at a restaurant that is a local favorite  Hugo's, an Authentic Mexican Fine Dining experience.  You will only find two in the United States.  Argentina's 1150 (pronounced eleven fifty) provide the wines for the wine lovers.
Mexican Restaurants in Houston can be found in abundance.... Since I have rated this restaurant a "5" on my scale, then I must share it with you.

I began my meal with these "Oh so-o-o-o good", Plantains. Aren't they lovely?
Empanadas de Platano
Plaintain turnovers stuffed with frijoles refritos

 AND a

Followed by this "explode in your mouth with flavor", scallops.  Looks nice doesn't it?

Callo de Hacha
Pan seared scallops over sweet corn bread with rajas con crema

My husband selected the Snapper, which of course I had to taste ! Yum Yum

Huachinango Zarandeado
Butterflied and marinated Vermillon Snapper with arroz a la Mexicana, squash and green beans topped with roasted tomato and serrano pepper sauce
After enjoying our wonderful ....everything was delicious... meal, we were definitely tempted with their dessert choices !  Look what we got !

Flan de Queso
Churros Rellenos served with Mexican Hot Chocolate

Yes, Yes, Yes we left fat and happy!
