Leftover Ham Bone and Blackeyed Peas

I did have my black eyed peas yesterday.

We stayed in. So I cooked mine in the Crock Pot.  They were absolutely the best I have ever cooked.  Want the recipe?


1 chicken bouillon - dissolved
1 small package of dried black eyed peas
1 onion - diced
2 cloves garlic - diced
1 red bell pepper - diced
1 jalapeno pepper - minced
1 Chile pepper - minced
1 leftover ham bone
1 tsp cayenne pepper
Salt and pepper to Taste
Lucky Dime

 Ready for the water and begin cooking!

Blackeyed peas in the crockpot

Mix all ingredients in your crock pot and fill with water to 3/4 full.  Cook on High to 7 hours or until peas are tender.

Loads of exploding flavor.  You will enjoy every bite!

Serve over rice and don't forget to remove the Dime!

  1. darn. wish I had seen this before giving the ham bone to my mom. She love to make soup with it. Next time, we will fight for the ham bone.
