Salted Caramel Apple Pound Cake

It's that time to be thinking about fall...
What do you think about?  I think of the State Fairs and Caramel Apples!

Why not make a cake that gives you those flavors? You know my favorite cake is pound cake, right?

Salted Caramel Apple Pound Cake
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
3 apples (2 cups finely chopped)
1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp apple pie spice
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt

Preheat oven 350°

Grease tube cake pan
Beat sugar, oil, vanilla and eggs
Add flour, apple pie spice, salt and baking soda
Stir in chopped apples
Pour in greased tube pan
Bake until toothpick inserted pulls out clean.
Cool for 15 minutes
Remove from pan

Prepare Caramel Glaze


1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tsp milk
1 Tbsp sea salt


In a sauce pan, stir all ingredients
Heat to boiling
Stir constantly for additional 2 minutes
Pour over warm cake.

TIP:  I used Delicious Red Apples
